Over the years I've played the viola, sung Italian madrigals and, most recently, been lead singer for a rock band.
The band was The Power
Trio but since we lost guitarist Mark Morrison we've disbanded and have reformed
with a new line-up. We're now Judy
and the Thought Police. Our next guitarist Craig Morton succumbed to the evils
of sleepless nights due to small children, so that role has fallen to me with
my meagre but improving guitar-playing skills. Now, with Orson
in our life, it's harder to find the time to practice. Music will eventually
prevail, though, so stay tuned....
Inspirations include The Move, Pixies, John Cale (of Velvet Underground fame), The Flamin' Groovies, Dwight Twilley, Marshall Crenshaw, Donovan, your basic blues balads and a whole host of others. This rates our taste as an eclectic mix, spanning the gamut of modern rock. We call it "we like what we like."
Current obsessive favorites:
- any and all Death in Vegas
- always The Pixies
- anything Foo Fighters
- anything Veruca Salt (pre-disolution preferred, though)
